The short version
We collect what we need to answer your message and deliver what you paid for. We do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
What we collect
When you send a message. The contact form collects the name, email address, topic and message you type, so that we can reply.
When you buy. PayPal processes the payment and passes us the transaction details we need to issue your access code. We never receive or store your card number.
When you download. Entering an access code tells our server that the code is valid. We do not build a profile of what you download.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers. We do not use your email address to send marketing unless you asked us to.
Who we share with
Only the services needed to run the site:
- PayPal — processes payments.
- Netlify — hosts the website and serves its pages.
- GitHub — delivers course files through time-limited download links.
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. We do not control what they log as part of providing their service.
Cookies
The 17Talk website itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. PayPal may set cookies on its own checkout pages, which are governed by PayPal's policy.
How long we keep it
Messages stay in our inbox so we can find them if you write again. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to support your access and to meet accounting requirements. When they are no longer needed, we delete them.
Your choices
Email hello@17talk.org to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days. Note that deleting purchase records may end your access to the course materials.
Children
17Talk is intended for learners aged 13 and over, or for younger children whose parent or guardian makes the purchase and manages the account.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
